Vodyanoy is a creature from Slavic folklore that lives in rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water. The Vodyanoy is said to be a shape-shifter, which means he can change his appearance to look like different creatures or objects. Sometimes he is depicted as a man with a fishtail or a frog-like creature with webbed feet and hands. He has green eyes that can be piercing and slimy, wet skin.

In stories, the Vodyanoy is a mischievous trickster who likes to fool humans who come too close to his domain. He can also be a bit scary, as he has the power to control the water and summon storms or floods.

NARRATOR: Once upon a time, four children loved to play by the river. But they ignored the warning signs about the Vodyanoy, a powerful water spirit who lived in the river. The children didn’t believe in the legend, and thought it was just a story. But little did they know, the Vodyanoy was watching them from the water.

(Children are playing by the river, laughing and splashing water)

CHILD 1: (splashing water at CHILD 2) Ha! Got you!

CHILD 2: (laughing) Hey, that’s not fair!

CHILD 3: (pointing at the water) Look, something’s moving in the water!

CHILD 4: (squinting) I don’t see anything.

VODYANOY: (rising from the water) You should have listened to the warnings.

CHILD 1: (gasping) Who are you?!

VODYANOY: I am the Vodyanoy, the water spirit who guards this river.

CHILD 2: (nervously) We didn’t mean to disrespect you, we just wanted to play.

VODYANOY: (angrily) You have disturbed the peace of my home. And for that, you must pay.

CHILD 3: (trembling) What are you going to do to us?

VODYANOY: (smiling wickedly) You’ll see.

(The Vodyanoy grabs the children and pulls them into the water. The scene goes dark)

NARRATOR: The children were never seen again. The townspeople searched for them, but they were never found. Some say the Vodyanoy took them to his underwater lair, where they remain trapped to this day. The Vodyanoy reminds us to always respect the power of nature, and to listen to warnings when they are given. Otherwise, we may face the consequences of our actions.
