SCRIPT: 

 

 

(There is a sofá on the left side of the stage.  Beside it, there’s a side table with a glass of milk and some cookies.  Santa Claus enters the stage walking slowly with his hands behind his back, then he stands in the center of the stage. He looks at the audience sadly.  A Boy and Girl from the audience stand before him)

 

 

BOY:  Santa, We are here to have fun.  And you’re sad!.

 

GIRL:  What’s wrong with you?. Why are you crying?.

 

SANTA CLAUS:  I’m crying because of you.  The Children.

 

BOY AND GIRL:  But we love you!.

 

SANTA CLAUS:  I know you love me, and the gifts I bring you.  But you seem to have somehow missed out on the true spirit of Christmas.  I want to teach you the true meaning of Christmas.  Teach you the symbolism behind the customs and traditions of Christmas which we now observe. Come with me!.

 

(The Boy and Girl get on stage.  Santa Claus sits on the sofá, and the children stand beside him.  Mary and Joseph enter the stage.  Mary has a baby in his arms covered with a blanket.  They stand in the center of the stage)

 

 

MARY AND JOSEPH:  We are the Holy Family.

 

JOSEPH:  Mi name is Joseph, and I represent obedience and strenght.

 

MARY: I am Mary, and I represent fidelity and love to God Almighty. My son, Baby Jesus, is a living symbol of the humility of God who left the glory of heaven to come to earth in poverty and obscurity. (They sit on the floor)

 

(The Angel enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

ANGEL:  I announce the Birth of the Savior.  (He stands behind Mary and Joseph)

 

 

(The Three Wise Men – Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthasar  enter and stand in the center of the stage.  Each one of them is carrying a small chest)

 

 

MELCHIOR, GASPAR, BALTHASAR:  We are the Three Wise Men, and we’ve come to honor the infant Jesus.

 

MELCHIOR:  I am Melchior and I come from Persia.  I brought the gift of Myrrh, which simbolizes the humanity of Jesus.

 

 

GASPAR: My name is Gaspar and I come from India.  I brought the gift of Frankincensem which simbolizes the Deity of Jesus.

 

BALTHASAR: I am Balthasar and I come from Arabia.  I brought the gift of Gold which simbolizes that Jesus is the King of the Universe.  He is the one true King.

 

(Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthasar stand beside Mary and Joseph. Bethlehem Star enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

BETHLEHEM STAR:  I am the symbol of shining hope for all mankind. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Christmas Tree enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

CHRISTMAS TREE:  My green color represents everlasting light, hope, and eternal life (stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Candle enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

CANDLE: I represent the light Jesus brought to the world. (stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Bell enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

BELL:  My ringing sound simbolizes the joy of Christmas.  (Stands on one side of the stage) 

 

 

(Wreath enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

WREATH: My circular shape symbolizes eternity, the circle of life, and endless hope. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Candy Cane enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

CANDY CANE:   I represent the crook of the Good Shepherd, and also the letter “J” for the precious name of Jesus. My white lines symbolize purity and the sinless nature of Jesus , while my red lines simbolize the blood Jesus shed for mankind. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

(Stocking enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

STOCKING: I represent the joy of receiving Christmas gifts. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(POINSETTIA enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

POINSETTIA:  My bright, star like flowers are a natural reminder of  the Star of Bethlehem,  and my red color simbolizes the blood Jesus shed for mankind. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Gift enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

GIFT:   I am the symbol of the gift God gave to the world; His son Jesus, who gave us the gift of love and salvation.  (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Red Ornament enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

RED ORNAMENT: I am the first color of Christmas.   I am the color of the life-giving blood that flows through your veins. I am the symbol of God’s greatest gift; His own life and the blood he shed for you that you might have eternal life. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(Green Ornament enters and stands in the center of stage)

 

 

GREEN ORNAMENT: I am the second color of Christmas.  Y represent nature, youth, and hope for eternal life in Christ. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

(White Ornament enters and stands in the center of the stage)

 

 

WHITE ORNAMENT: I am the third color of Christmas.  Y simbolize light, purity, joy, and the glory of Christ. (Stands on one side of the stage)

 

 

SANTA CLAUS :  These are the symbols you must know.

 

GIRL:  (to Santa Claus) ¿And you Santa?.

 

BOY:  (to Santa  Claus) ¿What do you represent?

 

SANTA CLAUS: (Stands in the center of the stages)  ¿Me?  (laughing) Ho, ho, ho, ho.  I represent the spirit of family fun, and the joy of giving and receiving.  But the most important thing we have to remember, is that Jesus Christ came into the world so that you could have Abundant Life.  And what a better way to celebrated it than with Christmas Carols, which remind us the joy of Christ’s Birth.

 

(Christmas Carols enter the stage singing “Joy to the World”.  They stand in the center of the stage)
