FATHER FROST – the winter king

SCRIPT:

(Ivan and Maria are building the Snow Maiden with the help of the villagers)

IVAN: (admiring their creation) Maria, this snow girl looks so beautiful! I wish we had a child like her.

MARIA: (sadly) But Ivan, we are too old to have children. It’s just a dream.

NARRATOR: As they finished building the snow girl, Ivan, and Maria made a wish.

IVAN: I wish this snow girl could come to life!

MARIA: Yes, let her be a daughter to us!

NARRATOR: To their amazement, their wish was granted. The snow girl came to life as a beautiful and kind young woman. They named her Snegurochka, or the Snow Maiden, and raised her as their own.

Scene 1:

(Ivan, Maria, and the Snow Maiden enjoy life in the village)

NARRATOR: As Snegurochka grew up, she brought joy and wonder to the village with her sweet nature and delicate beauty.

MARIA: (hugging Snegurochka) My dear daughter, you have brought so much happiness to our lives.

SNEGUROCHKA: (smiling) I’m glad I can make you happy, Mama.

IVAN: (proudly) You’ve also become quite popular in the village, Snow Maiden. Everyone loves you!

SNEGUROCHKA: (giggling) It’s easy to make friends when you’re made of snow!

NARRATOR: However, Snegurochka was also painfully aware of her inability to experience love and warmth like a normal human, as she was made of snow.

Scene 2:

(Snegurochka meets Lel and they fall in love)

NARRATOR: One day, the Snow Maiden met a young man named Lel, and they fell in love. However, every time she tried to embrace him, she felt herself melting away.

SNEGUROCHKA: (to Lel) Oh, Lel, I love you so much! But every time I try to hug you, I feel like I’m disappearing.

LEL: (sadly) I know, my love. It breaks my heart to see you suffer like this.

SNEGUROCHKA: (crying) Is there a way for us to be together?

NARRATOR: Snegurochka decided to seek the help of Father Frost, the winter king.

Scene 3:

(Snegurochka asks Father Frost to make her human)

NARRATOR: Desperate to be with her beloved, she begged Father Frost to make her human. Father Frost granted her wish, and Snegurochka became human, free to love and be loved by Lel.

FATHER FROST: (appearing before Snegurochka) What do you seek, Snow Maiden?

SNEGUROCHKA: (kneeling) Your Majesty, I beg of you, please make me human so that I can be with my beloved Lel.

FATHER FROST: (smiling) Very well, I grant your wish. But beware, once you become human, you will age and eventually die.

SNEGUROCHKA: (nodding) I understand, Your Majesty. I’m willing to take that risk for love.

NARRATOR: And so, with Father Frost’s magic, Snegurochka became human, and she and Lel were finally able to embrace without fear of her melting away.

SNEGUROCHKA: (embracing Lel) Oh, Lel, I can finally feel your warmth!

LEL: (holding her tightly) And I can finally hold you without fear of losing you!

NARRATOR: Snegurochka and Lel’s love continued to grow stronger each day, and they were inseparable.

Scene 5:

(Snegurochka realizes the consequences of being human)

NARRATOR: However, Snegurochka soon began to realize the consequences of being human. She aged faster than Lel, and as the years passed, she grew weaker and weaker.

SNEGUROCHKA: (coughing) Lel, my love, I fear my time on this earth is coming to an end.

LEL: (holding her close) No, Snegurochka, you can’t leave me!

SNEGUROCHKA: (weakly) I’m sorry, my love. But I’m grateful for the time we had together.

NARRATOR: Snegurochka passed away peacefully in Lel’s arms, but her love for him was eternal.

(Ivan and Maria mourn Snegurochka’s passing)

NARRATOR: Ivan and Maria mourned the loss of their beloved daughter, the Snow Maiden. But they took comfort in the fact that Snegurochka had found love and happiness in her short life.

IVAN: (looking up at the sky) Rest in peace, our dear Snow Maiden.

MARIA: (wiping her tears) We will never forget you.

NARRATOR: And so, the village continued to honor the memory of the Snow Maiden, a symbol of love and wonder in the cold, winter season.
