THE CHUPACABRA – AN ALIEN OR A BEAST CREATED IN A LABORATORY?

Once upon a time, a man and his wife lived happily on a farm with many animals, such as cows, chickens, dogs, horses, sheep, and goats.

One night with a full moon, his wife saw a strange figure by her window and said: Someone is out there making weird noises! Her husband, alarmed, went to the window, but there was no one and replied; Don’t worry. If anyone had been out there, the dogs would have barked by now. Let’s go to sleep. It’s already late, dear.

The next day the man woke up very early, as was his custom. He took a cup of coffee and left to go to the barn to feed his animals. When he left, it seemed very strange to him that none of his dogs were near there, and he remembered he had not heard their barking during the night.

He kept walking, and when he entered the barn, he was horrified to see a goat, a horrible beast. The man left frightened, went home, and told his wife: Quickly call the police and all the neighbors. Tell them to come to the farm because something terrible has happened.

When everyone arrived at the farm, one of his neighbors asked him: Why have you called us so urgently? The farmer replied: I have seen something scary. Come with me. Walking into the barn, they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. All the animals were dead. That unknown creature had attacked them during the night. Checking on the animals, another of the neighbors said: They all have marks on their necks and left them without blood. He has drained them! Then the farmer said: I saw that beast. It’s about a meter tall. It looks like a reptile with large fangs. His face is long. It has a very long tongue and sharp spines along its back. He drew blood from my animals with his sharp fangs. He is very dangerous, and we must catch him!

Then, one of the police officers said: That beast does not exist. It was just a coyote who attacked your animals. And since we must protect you, we will place traps to capture it and make patrols during the early morning. Now, all of you go back to your houses and let us know if you see anything strange.

Very worried, they all left the farm, and since that day, they watched their precious animals at all hours. They lived in peace like this for a while until news of various attacks on farm animals began to reach the town. These events caused fear among its inhabitants. The terror had returned!

One day, just before dark, one of the farmers and his wife were making a tour of their barn. Suddenly, they heard strange noises, and that’s when they saw a horrible being among the trees. When the woman saw him, she shouted: “It’s an alien!” Without thinking, her husband began to throw stones at the horrible being because he just wanted it to get away from them and to be able to save their lives. But the being remained there, staring at them with its large black eyes. Then it spread its wings, rose from the ground, and began to fly away. They ran in terror and told the townspeople and the farmers what they had seen. Some fearful locked themselves in their homes, while others decided to look for the beast armed with sticks, knives, and stones, but they could not find it.

No one saw that strange being again. Some said it was an alien, others that it was a vampire, some that it was a being created in a laboratory, and others that it was just a sick coyote.

It was never known who or what had been slaughtering the animals on their farms, but even to this day and from time to time, dead animals continue to turn up with those mysterious neck piercings.

THE LEGEND ORIGINATED IN PUERTO RICO IN 1995

HOW THE LEGEND STARTED

The first person to see the chupacabra was Madeylen Tolentino, from Puerto Rico, in March 1995. She described it as a terrifying, alien-like being that passed by the window of her house. Later, they heard strange noises, and when they left their house to see where they came from, they saw a horrendous being among the trees. When the woman saw him, she shouted: “It’s an alien!” Without thinking, her husband began to throw stones at her to scare him away, but the being remained there, staring at them with its large black eyes. Then it spread its wings, rose from the ground, and began to fly away. They ran in terror and reported what they saw to the townspeople and the farmers. Some fearful locked themselves in their homes, while others decided to go looking for him armed with sticks, knives, and stones but could not find him.

After several days, other people saw it and described it as a bipedal creature, between 1.20 and 1.50 meters tall, with large eyes, spikes along its back, and long claws.

This beast, as the people called it, was responsible for the death of the cattle, from which it sucked all the blood through perforations in the neck. Some said it was an alien, others that it was a vampire or was created in a laboratory, and others that it was just a sick coyote.

Nobody knew who or what had been killing the animals on their farms, but even to this day, from time to time, dead animals continue to turn up with those mysterious neck piercings.
