SCRIPT:

(The stage is set in a cozy barnyard. The sun is shining, and the animals are going about their daily activities. In the center of the stage is a small fence representing the barnyard, with a chicken coop on one side and a pigpen on the other. A sign reads “Red Rooster’s Yard.” A rooster with red feathers, Red Rooster, struts proudly around the yard. A new drake, Drake, waddles in, followed by his family. The other barnyard animals, including a dog, a robin, hens, and chickens, are scattered around.)

NARRATOR: Once upon a time in a peaceful barnyard, there lived a rooster named Red Rooster, who thought he was the bravest and toughest in the entire coop. He was the self-proclaimed ruler of the yard, and he wanted everyone to know it.

(Red Rooster puffs up his feathers and crows loudly, drawing everyone’s attention.)

RED ROOSTER: (Boastfully) I am the mightiest bird in this barnyard! I protect the hens and chickens, and I can beat any rooster around here. Nobody dares enter my yard!

DRAKE: (Calmly) Well, I believe in living in peace with all around me. I don’t get into fights.

NARRATOR: Red Rooster wasn’t too pleased with Drake’s peaceful attitude. He decided to prove his bravery to the new drake.

(Red Rooster struts around, bragging about his fighting skills.)

RED ROOSTER: (Bragging) I recently defeated a stranger rooster who dared to enter our yard!

(A dog, Dog, listens from his house.)

DOG: (Teasingly) Mr. Rooster, I think there are a few things even you might be afraid of. What about a fox?

RED ROOSTER: (Defiantly) A fox? I can scare it away with my loud crowing!

(Red Rooster climbs to the top of the chicken coop and continues to brag from the rooftop. A robin, Robin, perches nearby.)

RED ROOSTER: (Arrogantly) I’m fierce and brave! I would challenge anyone, even if they were as big as a cow!

ROBIN: (Mockingly) Really, Mr. Rooster? We’ll see about that.

NARRATOR: But Red Rooster’s confidence was about to be tested unexpectedly.

(Red Rooster ignores the warning cries from hens and chickens below. Suddenly, a hawk swoops down and grabs Red Rooster. The Farmer rushes in and shoots at the hawk. Red Rooster falls to the ground.)

FARMER: (Relieved) Phew! That was a close one!

(Red Rooster, shaken but alive, stands up.)

RED ROOSTER: (Humbled) I’ve learned my lesson. I was too overconfident.

(All the barnyard animals gather around.)

DRAKE: (Nodding) He crowed too soon.

DOG: (Agreeing) He crowed too much.

ROBIN: (Chiming in) He crowed too loud.

NARRATOR: Red Rooster realized that true bravery doesn’t require constant bragging. From then on, he became wiser and a lot less boastful, understanding that it’s important to stay humble and not underestimate potential dangers. And so, the barnyard animals lived in peace, each respecting one another’s unique qualities.

(The barnyard animals come together in a circle and cluck, quack, and crow happily)
