SCRIPT:

(A cat walks in the forest.  He sees a fox sleeping under a tree)

Cat: Good day, Mrs. Fox.  How are you on this beautiful and sunny day?

(The fox opens her eyes)

Fox: Mmmm…. can’t you see that I’m sleeping?

Cat: Oh, I’m sorry… but as soon as I saw you I thought to myself… Oh, she’s so intelligent and so clever… everybody loves her!

(The fox stands up and looks at the cat from bottom to top)

Fox: Ha, ha, ha, ha… I didn’t know you had a brain.  Go away… hunt mice… that’s the only thing you can do.

Cat: Oh, no, I can do a lot more things than that.  But you haven’t answer my question.

Fox: Why should I?  In fact… I shouldn’t be talking to you!   You’re nobody!  You know nothing!  You’re useless!  You don’t even have a life!  Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Cat: You’re wrong.  I have a talent.

Fox: A talent?  Ha, ha, ha, ha….  Yeah, sure… tell me more about it.

Cat: Well, when I see a bunch of dogs, I can climb up the trees and save my life.

Fox: Is that all?

Cat: Yes… what about you?

Fox: Well, I have a bag of tricks, and I really feel sorry for you.  Come with me, I’ll show you how to get rid of the dogs.

(They hear some dogs barking)

Cat: Wait a minute…did you hear that?

Fox: Don’t tell me you’re afraid of those barking dogs?

(The cat climbs a tree)

Cat: Sure I am!

Fox: Ha, ha, ha, ha.  Now I can see your talent in action!

Cat: Come on, Mrs. Fox,  What are you going to do…open up your bag of tricks!   Hurry up…  they are almost here!

(Some dogs approach.  They grab and take the fox away)

Fox: No!  No!  Cat… do something!

Cat: Sorry… I can only hunt mice!  Remember?

(The dogs and the fox leave)

Cat: Oh, Mrs. Fox, your bag of tricks was empty!

SCRIPT:

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a farm full of hens.  Some were fat, and some were skinny.  The fat hens were always making fun of the skinny hens.

Fat Hen 1: Cluck, cluck … Ha, ha, ha, ha … look at those skinny hens! Cluck, cluck .

Fat Hen 2: They don’t have food to eat!  Cluck, cluck Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha  They look sick…and so pale!  Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, cluck, cluck.

Fat Hen 1: I’m giving a party tonight in my hen house… and you are invited!

Fat Hen 2: Just don’t invite those skinny, little, ugly hens!

Fat Hen 1: Of course not!  I’m not inviting them… the party is just for us… fine and healthy hens!

Fat Hen 1, 2: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, cluck, cluck.

Narrator: But the Cooks of the farm had another plan.

Cook 1: How many hens do you have for the soup?

Cook 2: How many do you need?

Cook 1:  I need only two… but I need them fat!

Cook 2: Let me get them.

Cook 1: Hurry up… the water is boiling already.

Narrator: The cook left the kitchen and went looking for the hens.  Meanwhile in the hen house.

Skinny Hen 1: What are you going to do tonight?

Skinny Hen 2: Nothing… did you know that there’s a party going on right now… and we were not invited?

Skinny Hen 1: Why do you think so?

Skinny Hen 2: Maybe it’s because of the way we look… you know… skinny.

Narrator: Meanwhile at the party, the two fat hens were having a lot of fun.

Fat Hen 1: La, la, la, la, tra, la, tra, la, tra, la, cluck, cluck.

Fat Hen 2: I love that song!

Narrator: Suddenly the cook entered, and pointed at the two hens.

Cook: You … and you … beautiful hens, come over here!

Fat Hen 1 and 2: Oh, no!

Fat Hen 1: I wish I were skinny!

Fat Hen 2: Me too!

(Lucy and Sam are talking)

Sam: What are you thinking about?

Lucy: I would like to fly, just like you do.

Sam: Why, Lucy?  Why would you like to fly?

Lucy: Because walking is boring… I’m very slow.

Sam: But you haven’t answered my question, Lucy.

Lucy: Yes, I did… I want to fly because…

Sam: Because you don’t like to walk, because you think it’s boring.  Just tell me why you want to fly.

Lucy: Isn’t it the same?

Sam: No.  Try again.

Lucy: I want to fly because it’s not fun being on the ground.  Because I take too long to get to any place, and I get tired.

Sam: Here we go again… you told me what you don’t want.  Try again.

Lucy: I want to fly, because I want to feel free!  I want to see the stars.. I want to see everything from above.  I want to be just like you… Oh, if I could just fly at least for a minute.   Come on, Sam, teach me how to fly.

Sam: But you don’t have wings, so you can’t fly.

Lucy: I could pay you… you know.

Sam: Mmmm… how much can you pay me?

Lucy: I’ll give you a hundred gold coins.

Sam: Very well, you convinced me.

Lucy: Yes!  Yes!

Sam: I’ll grab you with my feet, don’t be scared.

(Sam holds Lucy and takes him through the air)

Lucy: This is so fun!  Yeah! Oh, this is wonderful!

Sam: I’m glad that you are enjoying the ride.

Lucy: Oh, thank you, thank you, Sam!

Sam: It’s time to go down.

Lucy: No, wait!  I see a bunch of turtles over there… I want them to see me!

Sam: Why do you want them to see you?  You wanted to fly just for the fun of it.

Lucy: Well, yes… but I’m sure that they are going to be jealous of me.

Sam: Jealous of you?  They are your friends, and true friends don’t get jealous.

Lucy: But I am unique!

Sam: Don’t be so vain, Lucy.

Lucy: It’s the truth… they will envy me!  They will never get to fly like I do!

Sam: I don’t like the way you are talking…. I’m getting tired of you… so go, and fly on your own!

Lucy: No! … what about the money?

Sam: I don’t care about the money!   If you want them to see you up in the sky, then show them that you can fly.   Have a nice trip!

(Sam lets Lucy go, and she falls on a mountain and cries)

Lucy: Ouch… ouch!

(Two turtles approach Lucy)

Turtle 1: That must have hurt a lot!

Lucy: Yes it it… but I’m glad that my shell saved my life.

Turtle 2: I feel sorry for you.  If you can hardly walk in the ground, what were you doing in the sky?

Lucy: I learned my lesson.  I have to be happy with what I have.

SCRIPT:

(two dogs play in the park with a ball)

Dog 1: Did you hear that?

Dog 2: Mmm… no, I don’t think so.

(they keep playing with the ball)

Dog 1: What’s that noise?

Dog 2: What noise?

Dog 1: Come on! Don’t tell me that you didn’t hear it.

Dog 2: Oh well, Yes, I did!  It’s my stomach!  I’m hungry.,.. and don’t say anything more!

(they keep playing with the ball when suddenlty the ball falls into the lake)

Dog 1: Look what you did!

Dog 2: Let me get it.

(Dog 2 gets near the water and sees a bone in the bottom of the lake)

Dog 2: Look… it’s a bone!

Dog 1: Yeah, sure… the ball changed into a bone as soon as it touched the water!

Dog 2: I’m telling you the truth… it’s a bone!

Dog 1: Let me see… you’re right… it’s a bone!

Dog 2: Let’s get it…it’s just what I need.

Dog 1: How are we going to get it out?

Dog 2: Let me think… I know… we’ll drink all the water, and then the bone will be mine.

Dog 1: You mean ours.

Dog 2: That’s what I said.

(both dogs drink all the water in the lake. They are now full and fat)

Dog 1: I can’t drink anymore water.

Dog 2: Keep drinking.

Dog 1: How much?

Dog 2: Just keep drinking.

(both dogs fall to the ground)

Dog 1: I don’t think it was a good idea.

Dog 2: Sorry… I thought it was going to be fast and easy, but it wasn’t safe.

(both dogs close their eyes)

SCRIPT:

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a very arrogant fox.  She had a shiny and furry tail and bright eyes.  One day she decided to visit her cousin who lived in a near village.  She put on her pink hat and started to walk.

Fox: What a lovely day!  Oh, yes!

Narrator: She kept walking, but after a while she was tired and thirsty.

Fox: Oh, It’s hot!  And I’m getting tired… I wish there was some water to drink.

Narrator: She walked, and walked, and she was getting thirstier, and thirstier.

Fox: I’m thirsty and hungry… I wish I had something to eat… but there isn’t anything on the road.  And I still have a long way to walk… Oh, my… I should have stayed home.

Narrator: Suddenly she looked up and saw a vineyard full of ripe grapes.

Fox: Those grapes look sweet and juicy… they look so delicious.  Oh, those are the most beautiful grapes I have ever seen… I have to eat some!

Narrator: She tried to get them.  So she jumped upwards but she could not reach the grapes. She jumped again as high as she could. She still could not reach them. The grapes were just too high for her.  She couldn’t even touch them.

Fox: Hmmm, now that I think about it… I am sure that those grapes are not ripe.

Narrator: But she kept looking at the grapes.

Fox: I must be dreaming… this not true…  I am not going to look at those grapes anymore.  They are sour… even tough they look so sweet and juicy….

Narrator: The fox wanted to leave, but she couldn’t take her eyes off the grapes.

Fox: They are sour!  Yes they are!  They are not sweet!  No they are not!   Why would I want them anyway?  I better leave… it was a mistake trying to get them… I’m just wasting my time.

Narrator: And the fox walked away.  Maybe she didn’t believe what she was saying, but what else could she do?

Narrator: Once upon a time in a field on a summer day , there was a happy Grasshopper who liked to play, sing, and dance all day.

Grasshopper: What a splendid day!.,,,, la,la,la,la,la. I have nothing to do, but sing and play… la, la, la, la,la…

Narrator: As she was singing, an ant was passing by.

Ant: Don’t you ever get tired of playing?

Grasshopper: Who, me? … of course not!

Ant: Don’t you ever work?

Grasshopper: Who, me? … of course not!… Do you want to play with me?

Ant: No,  I have work to do.

Grasshopper: Come on, let’s sing together.

Ant: No, I’m very busy right now.

Grasshopper: Work, work, work!  … That’s all you do… You don’t have time to play or sing with me.

Ant: No, I don’t.

Grasshopper: Why are you in such a hurry?

Ant: I have to take home this kernel of corn.

Grasshopper: What for?

Ant: I have to store food for the winter.

Grasshopper: How can you think about winter on such a fine day?

Ant: Because the winter will be here soon, and food will be too hard to find… and you should do the same.

Grasshopper: I don’t want to worry about winter right now!  You just go ahead and work, work, work… and I will just play, sing, and dance.

Ant: Soon, you will not have enough food to eat.

Grasshopper: I have plenty of food right now.

Ant: And what about tomorrow?

Grasshopper: I don’t worry about tomorrow.

Ant: I do… good-bye.

Narrator: So the Ant went on its way and continued its work.  The weather soon turned cold, and all the food lying in the field was covered with a thick white blanket of snow.

Grasshopper: I should have listened to the ant!   It’s so cold that I can’t even play, or sing songs any more… and I don’t have food to eat.  I am sure the ant will help me!

Narrator: The grasshopper went to the ant’s hill.

Grasshopper: Please, ant give me something to eat…  I am cold and hungry.

Ant: Why should I help you?  What did you do all summer?

Grasshopper: I played, sang, and danced.

Ant: And I worked, worked, worked… so go and play, sing, and dance.

Narrator: Once upon a time there was a donkey who was walking through the woods, when suddenly he stepped over a sharp thorn.

Donkey: Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya it doesn’t hurt!… but I want to cry.  No, I won’t cry!… Yes, I’ll cry!.

Narrator: And the donkey cried and cried.  Then he put his foot again on the floor.

Donkey: Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya,  it hurts!

Narrator: The donkey cried and cried once again.  Suddenly he saw a wolf.

Donkey: (thinking)  Oh, no! That wolf is watching me.  I am sure he will eat me, and I can’t escape from him!  What am I going to do?

Narrator: After a few minutes he decided to talk to the wolf.

Donkey: Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya Mr. Wolf…. Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya Mr. Wolf….

Wolf: What’s wrong?

Donkey: Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya  Mr Wolf… look at me!  I am suffering… please…don’t let me die… ha, ya, ya, ya, ya Mr. Wolf, what big teeth you have… you can use your teeth to remove this prickly thorn from my hoof.

Wolf: Do you really think so?

Donkey: Sure.  Before I die try to remove it, then you can eat me.

Wolf: But… if I remove the thorn, why should you die?

Donkey: Because I am not fine ha, ya, ya, ya,ya … do what you have to do… now!

Wolf: Very well… I will use my teeth to remove it.

Donkey: Will it hurt?

Wolf: Don’t be scared… just stretch your leg.

Donkey: Ha, ya, ya, ya, ya (thinking) as soon as he pulls out the thorn I will kick him.

Wolf: You are free!  The thorn is gone!

Narrator: The donkey kicked the wolf with his heels as hard as he could breaking his teeth, and then he ran away.

Wolf: Oh no!  poor me!… I wanted to help you, and now I don’t even have my teeth!

Narrator: One hot sunny day, a thirsty fox was walking in the woods, when he saw a well, and when trying to look inside, he fell in.

Fox: Oh, this well is very deep  How will I get out again? … I can´t jump very high.  All I wanted was some water, but not this much!

Narrator: At that moment, a thirsty goat was passing by and heard a noise coming from the well.

Goat: What are you doing down there, fox?  Did you lose something?

Fox: No, goat, I just wanted to drink some water. I was so thirsty, and this water is so refreshing.  Come down here and taste it for yourself!

Goat: Really?

Narrator: Goat jumped down into the well.

Goat: You were right!  This water is so sweet and fresh… but, how are we going to get out from here?

Fox: Well, the top of the well is high, but if you stand still I can climb on your back and jump to the top.  As soon as I am out, I will help you to get out too.

Narrator: So goat stood still, fox climbed out, and looked down at the goat.

Fox: Thanks for your help goat.  See you soon!

Goat: Fox…don´t leave me here!  How am I going to get out?

Fox: You should have thought about that before going into the well.  Remember what they say, ¨look before you leap¨. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Narrator: And the fox ran away.
