Scene I – At the Mouse’s House
(The Mouse sweeps outside her house. She sees a coin on the floor)
Little Mouse: What´s that on the floor?
(She picks up a gold coin)
Little Mouse: Oh, it´s a gold coin! mmm…. I’ll buy some candies… mmm, better not… my teeth will hurt. I´ll buy a cake …. no, my stomach will hurt and I will get fat… I´ll buy a red hair bow … Yes! I’ll do just that…I will look so beautiful… everybody will want to marry me!
(She leaves)
Scene II – At the Store
Clerk: How may I help you?
Mouse: I want the most beautiful hair bow you have!
Clerk: What color?
Mouse: I want it red!
(The clerk gives the mouse a red hair bow. The Mouse puts is on her head)
Clerk: You look beautiful!
Mouse: I know!
(A Rooster enters )
Rooster: Oh… your are the most beautiful mouse I have ever seen…will you marry me?
Little Mouse: I don´t know… I don´t know. What noise do you make at night?
Rooster: Cluck, cluck, bwak, cluck, cluck, bwak
Little Mouse: Oh no! I will not marry you. I don´t like the noise you make.
Rooster: Well, you’re not the most beautiful mouse… anyway!
(The rooster leaves. A dog enters)
Dog: Little mouse… you look so beautiful with that red bow! Will you marry me?
Little Mouse: I don´t know… I don´t know. What noise do you make at night?
Dog: Warf, warf, warf
Little Mouse: Oh no! I will not marry you… you scare me.
Dog: Wait till you see the cat!
(The dog leaves. A pig enters).
Pig: Little mouse… the Rooster and the Dog told me you look beautiful today. Will you marry me?
Little Mouse: I don´t know… I don´t know. What noise do you make at night?
Pig: Oink, oink
Little Mouse: Oh no! I will not marry you. You make an ordinary noise.
Pig: I thought you were going to say that!
(The Pig leaves. A white Cat enters)
Cat: Little Mouse… you are so beautiful. Will you marry me?
Little Mouse: I don´t know… I don´t know. What noise do you make at night?
Cat: Meow, meow
Little Mouse: No! You will scare me.
Cat: I don’t want to scare you little mouse…. I want to eat you!
(The cat tries to grab the mouse)
Little Mouse: Go away!
Clerk: Get out of my store!
(The Cat leaves. A Mouse enters)
Mouse: Oh, you are the most beautiful mouse I have ever seen… ! Will you marry me?
Little Mouse: I don’t know… I don’t know… What will you do at night?
Mouse: I’ll sleep and be quiet… I’ll sleep and be quiet.
Little Mouse: Yes!… I will marry you!
(They hug)
