ERNEST’S PARTY

SCRIPT:
NARRATOR: One day, Granny elephant remembered that Ernest’s birthday was coming.
GRANNY: Would you like a party?.
ERNEST: Can I have Emma and Eileen come to my party?.
GRANNY: Oh, no!. They live too far away. You can’t have Emma and Eileen at your party.
NARRATOR: Ernest was disappointed, but he followed Granny as she set off to the banana tree where the old lady elephants met each day.
ERNEST: Can I have Cousin Eric come to my party, Granny?.
GRANNY: Oh, no!. Eric is much too rough, you can’t have Eric at your party.
NARRATOR: Poor Ernest, he was so sad because he couldn’t have Emma, Eileen or Eric.
ERNEST: Then, who can come to my party?.
GRANNY: We will see that later. I have to go now.
NARRATOR: Granny went to talk to her friends.
GRANNY: Ernest is having a birthday party, I hope you will all come.
NARRATOR: At the top of the banana tree sat Grandfather monkey.
GRANDFATHER MONKEY: I know that no little elephant wants old lady elephants at a party, so I will throw a bunch of bananas down on to Granny’s head.
GRANNY: Good gracious!. I’ve never seen it rain bananas before!.
NARRATOR: The next day all the old lady elephants came to Ernest’s party. They made a ring round the party food and began to eat.
ERNEST: I want to cry. I can´t eat, my little trunk can´t reach anything!. I cant stay here.
NARRATOR: When he turned away, he saw a crowd of monkeys.
MONKEYS: Happy Birthday, Ernest!. We brought you presents of fruit.
ERNEST: Thank you !. I am so happy that you came to my party.
NARRATOR: Grandfather monkey had sent for all his grandchildren to come to the party, so Ernest had a happy time, after all.
