SCRIPT:

(Thief 1 and 2 are seated near a road.  There’s a horse beside them)

THIEF 1: Today was a great day for us.

THIEF 2: This is the third time we steal at that farm, and they haven’t caught us.

THIEF 1: We’re two lucky thieves!.

THIEF 2: How much should we ask for the horse?.

THIEF 1:  I don’t want to sell it.  I need the money!.

THIEF 2:  It’s a fine horse, and we should use it to get into the farms and escape quickly!.

THIEF 1: No.  I have  lot of debts and this horse is my salvation.  We should sell it as soon as possible!.

THIEF 2:  Please, think about it.  This horse can be very useful.

THIEF 1: We can steal another one.  There are many ranches and farms nearby, and maybe they have better horses than this one. I want to sell it!. Do you understand?.

(Thief 3 enters the stage and approaches Thief 1 and 2)

THIEF 1:  Look, someone is coming.  We’ll talk about this later.

THIEF 3: Good afternoon gentlemen.

THIEF 1 AND 2:  Good afternoon.

THIEF 3:  It’s a nice day, but it’s too hot!.

THIEF 1: You’re right.

THIEF 3:  You look a little tense, do you have a problem?.  Can I be of any help?.

THIEF 2:  There’s nothing wrong. Don’t worry about us.

THIEF 3: Ok, don’t get upset. I come from Rich Vale I’m very tired and thirsty. Do you have some water?.

THIEF 2:  No, we don’t.

THIEF 3:  Well, it doesn’t matter.  The next town is only a few miles away. I’ll get there soon, I’m pretty sure of that.

THIEF 1: Have a good trip!.

THIEF 3:  (looking at the horse)  What a beautiful horse you have!.

THIEF 2:  Thank you.

THIEF 3: Can I touch it?.

THIEF 1:  Just be careful, you might scare him.

THIEF 3:  (touching the horse) It’s a very fine horse…and very well taken care of.

THIEF 2:  We do the best we can.

(Thief 3 gets on the horse)

THIEF 1:  What are you doing?.  Get down from our horse immediately!.

THIEF 3:  Now it’s mine…sorry!. (Leaves the stage riding the horse)

THIEF 2: I can’t believe it!.

THIEF 1:  He stole our horse just in front of us!.

THIEF 2: Now we don’t have a horse…nor money.

THIEF 1:  I’ll look for him and he’ll pay for what he did.  I swear it!.

THIEF 2: Forget it!.  Just remember it’s no crime to steal from a thief.

THE END
